Hope Explored looks at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, this three-session series shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about your present.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK

Christian Aid Week is from the 11th -17th May. As in the last few years we will be distributing envelopes around the parish for the recipients to donate. There will not be a requirement to collect envelopes as there will be stickers on the envelopes as to where to drop  off  their donation and also a QR code to donate directly. Dianne ,Robert and Colin will be looking for volunteers to  deliver envelopes!

This years campaign focuses on Guatemala, which is  hunger hotspot in Central America.Industrialised farming techniques practised by Multinational companies to grow crops and monoculture has robbed the country of much of its water so that locals find it difficult or impossible to grow food for their families  Many children are malnourished. Climate change has also made Guatemala subject to extremes of weather with temperatures often reaching 40c . Through a local partner  Congcoop Christian Aid is enabling like Aurelia, featured on the envelopes, to select, grow and harvest crops which can survive these extremes. Please help by delivering envelopes, praying for CA week and donating.

Lord Jesus, we know you have plans for Holy Trinity Church here in Ripon and we trust that those plans are good. Holy Spirit guide those who are seeking the right minister to be our next vicar and those who are seeking the right next step in their ministry. For Your kingdom in this place. Amen.

MISSION PARTNER FOCUS – CMS – Andy and Katie Walsh in Florianopolis, Brazil

Please pray:

For the Lord’s anointing as they grow as leaders within Vineyard Floripa and as they proclaim the gospel – through prison bars, in the courtyards, and within the classrooms – that they would see more lives impacted and lasting fruit.

For wisdom as Andy completes the proposal for planting churches in prisons, that it is received favourably by key decision makers

For swift approval from the governor to resume their activities in the women’s prison; that the prison would be sufficiently resourced and that every stronghold hindering the gospel’s work would be broken.

That the judge continues to endorse this ministry, acquiring favour with the authorities and that they would encounter key individuals with strategic influence who can advance this mission.
