Prayers

Many will have heard about the tragic accident involving a Ukrainian family staying in Ripon. Please hold this situation in your prayers and if you wish to use a prayer station there has been one set up at Holy Trinity which will be open 2.30 to 4.00 pm every day until Friday.

Wild Flower Planting

Over the past few months Holy Trinity Church has been working with Holy Trinity School about developing a wild flower and nature area within the church yard. This is a great project involving: young people, our community and of course having a positive impact upon the local environment. We have obtained the relevant permissions and are hoping that this will provide a fantastic resource for children and adults to experience an outdoor reflective space.

We are hoping to secure some community funding for this. However, we are also hoping to use recycled materials in this project. One item that would be really useful are some wooden pallets. If you have access to items such as these please get in contact with the office.

Restored and Gram Seed

This is an amazing opportunity, so keep Sunday 17 September at 6.30 pm clear. Gram Seed is our very special guest speaker. If you have undertaken an Alpha in the last few years you may remember Gram. His story is amazing and totally inspirational. Come and here how Gram moved from 22 years of violence, addiction and crime to following Jesus. This is a must for you, but even more of a must to bring a friend too. You and they will not be disappointed.

We have some leaflets in church so take half a dozen and deliver them to your neighbours or take them to your work!

Digging Deeper

Digging Deeper starts this Thursday (tonight). Everyone is welcome to attend. It all happens in room 5 from 7.30 pm

Harvest Adventure

Our latest Harvest Adventure starts on Monday 18 September. This is an opportunity to set aside a week’s worth of half hour slots to reflect upon God with a guide. Full details are available here: Harvest Adventure

OASIS

Ladies our next Oasis happens this Saturday at 9 am. An invitation has been sent out so look out for this!

Men’s Breakfast

Not to be outdone, Men’s Breakfast happens a week on Saturday (16 September) at 8 am. Again an invitation will be sent out!

Thursdays

We plan to hold two different courses on a Thursday lunchtime starting on 28 September at midday. This is to take advantage of the meals being cooked for Thursday lunch! There will be an Alpha course – probably in room 1 and 2; and a CAP Life Skills Course probably in Room 5. Full details will be published very soon. However, if you are interested or even better if you think you know someone else who would like to attend either of these courses please let them know about them so that they can keep their diaries free. See John about Alpha and Jed about CAP.

Thursday lunches will of course continue and indeed they start this Thursday – so please come along this week!

Mission Partners – Prayer

Our new Mission Partner Prayer Focus is Scripture Union.

Here are some prayer points from Geoff Brown:

  • This term we are running some ‘Mission Possible’ training events to equip, envision and encourage churches to become more effective in their mission to children and young people.  We are running 11 of these in the North region and please pray that they are well attended and that people find them helpful.  You can find out more here.
  • Please pray for all of the planning and preparation that needs doing for a new weekend away that we are running at the end of October.  This is aimed at those who currently don’t have many connections to a church.
  • Please pray that many churches and Christian groups in schools will make use of the Shine in Schools resources.  The new series (‘Known’) is being released this month and looks at what it means to be known by others and by God.

In the mean time please hold them all in your prayers. If you want to find out more then take a peak at our web site: Mission Partners
