Wellspring Dress Green Day

Wellspring are organising their second Dress Green campaign in October.  It is a fundraising and awareness event to tie in with the World Mental Health Awareness Month. They are grateful to have Holy Trinity’s participation again this year and would like to invite the congregation to join Dress Green again to support people experiencing emotional distress.  They would be grateful if church members could wear something green to the service on 8 October when we welcome Wellspring to speak as part of our Mission Partner Sunday. You will be able to make an optional donation via the link that is on their website.

For event details, please visit the website: #DressGreen and be seen this October – Wellspring Therapy & Training.

Handbag Sale – Saturday 25 November, 10.00 am – 3.00 pm in the Arches.

Put this date in your diaries. Come and support the YMCA and buy yourselves some beautiful handmade bags! These will make wonderful Christmas presents!

Eating Together – 1 October after the 10.30 am service

Eating Together is what it says on the tin!

This is a chance to meet and eat socially in a relaxed setting.  We hope to make this very informal and easy for folk to join in.

We are celebrating Harvest on this Sunday.

If you would like to take part what we would like you to do is bring a picnic and include something to share for the “Sharing Table” for folk who turn up on the day who would like to come but have forgotten to bring something.

We may use Spa Park if the weather is good  – and we’ll have the Arches available for eating if the weather is poor. If you have any questions please have a word with Dan.

Mission Partners – Prayer

Our current Mission Partner Prayer Focus is Kajo-Keji College.

Kajo-Keji Christian College has now been relocated back to its original buildings in South Sudan for 3 years, and is working hard to build up its student body (mainly ordinands, but also pastors who haven’t previously received training), plus teachers and business students).  Current prayer needs are as follows:-

  • For successful registration with the National Council of Higher Education in South Sudan – this has been ongoing for a long time and is very expensive
  • For Rev Captain Jonathan Soro (Church Army) who is Acting Principal of the College until December and for the appointment of the new Principal, for the right combination of academic and leadership skills, and spiritual wisdom
  • For Rt Rev Dr Lule James Kenyi as he begins his challenging role as Bishop of Kajo-Keji
  • For sufficient funds for the College to operate.  The only guaranteed income is the regular monthly donation from Friends of Kajo-Keji, and all students struggle to pay the fees expected of them
  • For the flourishing of agricultural projects which will promote food self sufficiency for the College population
  • For safety and security of the College and the surrounding area, as the staff and the Diocesan staff continue to work for tribal unity and promote peace and reconciliation.

For any further information, please see the newsletter in the Arches and or speak to Cathie Rutter.

In the mean time please hold them all in your prayers. If you want to find out more then take a peak at our web site: Mission Partners
