Restored and Gram Seed – This Sunday Evening at 6.30 pm

This is an amazing opportunity. Gram Seed is our very special guest speaker. If you have undertaken an Alpha in the last few years you may remember Gram. His story is amazing and totally inspirational. Come and hear how Gram moved from 22 years of violence, addiction and crime to following Jesus. This is a must for you, but even more of a must to bring a friend too. You and they will not be disappointed.

Please let folk know about this

Harvest Adventure

Our latest Harvest Adventure starts on Monday 18 September. This is an opportunity to set aside a week’s worth of half hour slots to reflect upon God with a guide. Full details are available here: Harvest Adventure There is also a Harvest Adventure Quiet Day on Saturday. Details here: Quiet Day A separate invitation will be posted out for the Harvest Adventure.

Men’s Breakfast

Men’s Breakfast also happens this weekend on Saturday (16 September) at 8 am. Our speaker this month will be Jonathan Nicholas.  Jonathan has been a member of Trinity congregation for many years and was until recently the head of History at St Aidan’s school in Harrogate.  All are welcome to come and hear Jonathan’s story.

Again an invitation will be sent out!

Trinity Tuesday

We held our Trinity Tuesday a week or so ago where we prayed for the schools of the local area. Of course, we would love folk to continue to pray for our schools. Full details of the schools and the prayers we prayed and want folk to continue to pray are on the sheets displayed in the main church (near the toy corner). We are seeing openings happening following these prayers so it is important to see what these are and to pray for these yourself too.

Just as an advanced warning, at our next Trinity Tuesday (3 Oct) we will be focussing on the environment.

We have a new Alpha Course starting on Thursday 28 September. This will run from midday in rooms 1 and 2. We already have great interest to make this a viable group, but we’d love more participants. If you would like to come, know someone who would like to come, or just interested speak to John H. Sign-up details will appear very soon.

Similarly, we have a CAP course also starting on Thursday 28 September at midday. This will be held in room 5. If you would like to come, know someone who would like to come, or just interested please speak to Jed. Sign-up details will appear very soon.

Mission Partners – Prayer

Our current Mission Partner Prayer Focus is Scripture Union.

Here are some prayer points from Geoff Brown:

  • This term we are running some ‘Mission Possible’ training events to equip, envision and encourage churches to become more effective in their mission to children and young people.  We are running 11 of these in the North region and please pray that they are well attended and that people find them helpful.  You can find out more here.
  • Please pray for all of the planning and preparation that needs doing for a new weekend away that we are running at the end of October.  This is aimed at those who currently don’t have many connections to a church.
  • Please pray that many churches and Christian groups in schools will make use of the Shine in Schools resources.  The new series (‘Known’) is being released this month and looks at what it means to be known by others and by God.

In the mean time please hold them all in your prayers. If you want to find out more then take a peak at our web site: Mission Partners
