A week of fun, activities and Jesus for Primary School children.

Boost Organisation has begun and we need up to 50 volunteers to go ahead.

Please ask anyone in a boost T shirt if you need to know more.

Looking forward to a fun week exploring ‘Creation’

MEN’S BREAKFAST, SATURDAY 21 MARCH, 8.00 am

Speaker : Martin Fenlon

Men’s Breakfast is a friendly group open to anyone to come and have a hearty Full English; tea and coffee; toast and hear an interesting speaker.

It really helps if you can sign up if you plan to come.  It also helps with ordering and preparing the correct amount of food.

You can sign-up here on this page.

MEMORIAL SERVICE, SUNDAY 22 MARCH, 6.30 pm

This service is for those who have been bereaved during the last few years and also to remember and give thanks for the life of family and friends who are no longer with us.

If you would like a loved one to be remembered in the service, whether you are able to attend or not, you can add their name to a list in the narthex.

UNITED WORSHIP EVENING, SUNDAY 29 MARCH, 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm

This will be an evening of praising our God together through music.  It will be a time to enjoy singing, listening to the music, worshipping God, and encouraging one another.

Different groups will be playing songs throughout the evening from Holy Trinity and St Wilfrid’s Church.

Everyone is welcome, and we very much look forward to seeing you there!

PRAYING FOR RIPON

TECH TEAM

Can you help the tech team? The small laptop that runs the theatre style lights in church is on its last legs and needs replacing. Have you got an old windows touch screen laptop gathering dust in a drawer that you have long stopped using, that you could donate to the church?

It doesn’t matter if it is old and sluggish and no longer runs the apps you use! We would be running a Linux operating system on it, that can run effectively on the oldest of PCs.

If you think you could help please contact the office or speak directly to Tim Scholes or Nick Pearce.

RECYCLING

A few general reminders to all about our recycling at Holy Trinity – we have a lot!:-

  • paper and cardboard bins are only for paper and cardboard!
  • Please clean out any food containers in the kitchen recycling
  • Soft plastic and crisp packets can’t be recycled

BOOKS

MEETING GOD IN MATTHEW by Elaine Storkey (SPCK), which is very suitable for Lent, or for the whole of the year in which our gospel readings in seasonal time will be mainly from Matthew. It is intentionally accessible and includes discussion questions for groups.

MEETING GOD IN JOHN: a companion for Lent, Holy Week, Easter and beyond by David Ford, would also be a possibility since many of the Gospel readings during Lent come from John’s Gospel.

DRAW NEAR; LIFE GIVING HABITS FOR LENT is the CofE’s theme for Lent 2026. 40 daily reflections. NB the reflections for Holy Week and Easter Day are contributed by Kate Bruce who many will remember as a curate at Holy Trinity. (*these booklets are cheaper if bought in packs of 10, so if you are interested it may be worth getting together with others to purchase copies)

REFLECTIONS FOR LENT, HOLY WEEK AND EASTER offers reflections based on the Common Worship Lectionary readings for Morning Prayer. The book also includes a simple form of Morning Prayer and Night Prayer (Compline) so could be used in a daily routine of prayer during Lent.

THE HEART’S TIME by Janet Morley contains a poem and reflection for each day of Lent, Holy Week and Easter Week.  Beautifully written and very accessible, illustrates how poetry can be used to nourish our spiritual lives.

MISSION PARTNERS PRAYER FOCUS

NEW BEGINNINGS

Prayer points:

  • To pray for the women who are coming to realise the extent of the abuse they were subjected to and to give them the strength and resilience to rebuild their lives despite ongoing challenges.
  • To pray for the children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse. May they find every opportunity to understand negative and abusive behaviours and to heal from their experiences.
  • To pray for the volunteers, staff and trustees of New Beginnings Peer Support, to guide them in their work, to protect their emotional wellbeing and celebrate their achievements.
