Mission Partners – Prayer
Our current Mission Partner Prayer Focus is Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
CAP is, like many of us, going through severe financial restrictions at this difficult time. Donations over the last year have failed to meet their planned expectations, and a full review of operations for the next 5 years, including staffing, is now completed, resulting in department reorganisation and redundancies. A new CEO was appointed in August 2023, and two other directors have indicated their desire to leave CAP. Please pray that CAP is able to continue to provide support to those in need, and that any redundancies do not create significant hardship for those staff members affected. Pray that the new CEO, Stewart McCulloch, is able to steer the ship during these stormy times.
Throughout 2023, CAP is committed to continually strive for transformed lives, thriving churches and an end to UK poverty. Every day they support people to discover a future that’s more hope-filled. Please pray today for this work, and lift up all the volunteers and staff across the UK. Pray that clients will soon be welcomed into Holy Trinity.
Please pray that 2023/24 will see many more transformed lives, including people becoming debt free, finding new ways to manage their money, and discovering the joy of a relationship with Jesus.
Challenge Poverty Week is to be held 16 – 22 October 2023. CAP will continue to campaign for changes to government and industry policies that impact the people we serve. Please pray for the ongoing journey towards an end to UK poverty. Pray that financial education be provided on the National Education Agenda. May God be in the driving seat.
CAP continues to grow in numbers of volunteers and staff, meaning they can help more people. Please pray for those who have joined CAP recently as they find their rhythm in a new role and place of work.
As the need for CAP’s services continues to grow, so does the need to bring in new staff, volunteers and supporters. Let’s pray that God would speak to people with a heart to see lives changed and poverty eradicated, so that they might be encouraged to join us on this journey.
Father, we pray for Christians Against Poverty today. For every church, client, supporter, volunteer and staff member who shares the vision to see transformed lives, thriving churches and an end to UK poverty. Help us stay united in our mission, strong in our faith, and focused on the world we want to see. Amen.
In the mean time please hold them all in your prayers. If you want to find out more then take a peak at our web site: Mission Partners
