ALTOGETHER MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE THIS SUNDAY

15 September at 10.30 am will be our first monthly Altogether Service. This will also be our Harvest Celebration Service and we will be looking at Jesus’ words “Do not worry”. This year we will be collecting for the Salvation Army Food Bank so if you would like to contribute please bring any non perishable foods or toiletries to this service. It will be wonderful to worship together as a whole church family and to celebrate God’s goodness across the whole of creation and our lives. Breakfast of cofffee, tea and pastries will be served downstairs from 10.00 am. All welcome!

LADIES SOCIAL EVENING

Come and meet for another informal social evening at Ripon Inn on

Friday the 20th of September from 7:30pm

All ladies welcome.  Just turn up whenever suits you.  Feel free to order food too if you would like (some of us will be!)

For more information, please contact Becca at [email protected] or Kathryn on 07940 545642

(It would be good to know you’re coming if possible, but we’d love to see you anyway)

MISSION PARTNERS

Every three years our Mission partners are reviewed and whilst we feel it most appropriate to continue with many of our current partners, there is room for you to make suggestions in October. PCC had list of criteria for our charities see below:-

PCC CRITERIA RE OUTWARD GIVING

Committed to 10% tithe

70-80% of available money should be given to explicitly Christian partners with a bias towards those whose work is of an evangelistic nature  and whose approach is in keeping with HT ‘s spiritual ethos

Ideally between half and three quarters of our outward giving should be directed overseas

Consideration should be given to supporting the whole age range

We are concerned to maintain a continuity of giving particularly to our “key” partners over a number of years

There should be good communication, ideally with a personal contact at HT

There should be a good system of accountability.

So please look out for voting slips in October so that we can look forward to another three years of  fruitful partnership.

EASYFUNDRAISING

FUNDRAISER FOR ARTIZAN INTERNATIONAL

Barbara is an occasional worshipper at Holy Trinity, joining us when she is in Ripon spending the weekend on her narrowboat. On Saturday 14th September from 12 noon, Ripon Motor Boat Club, situated at Canal Lane, Littlethorpe, HG4 3FE, will be holding an Open Day. This year Barbara will be running a stall on behalf of ARTIZAN INTERNATIONAL, one of Holy Trinity’s mission partners and a charity that Barbara volunteers with. This is an opportunity to purchase some early Christmas presents or treat yourself and support the charity. There will be lots of other fun and games as well as food and drink available. All welcome!

HARVEST ADVENTURE 2024

This is another exciting opportunity to set aside some time each day for one week to deepen your relationship with God. 30-minute daily appointments with accompaniers / guides are available. You might think of these daily appointments as a quiet time debrief or a week of daily appointments when you can more fully savour and relish what God is doing in your life. To do this best it will be helpful if you can also set aside some personal reading and reflection time on each day.

A flexible arrangement will be offered this year to enable as many folk to try this out.  We will be offering a series of appointments over one week, but there are two weeks to chose from.  Here are the options:

  • Five consecutive (daily) appointments on the  16th to the 20th September
  • Five consecutive (daily) appointments on the 23rd to the 27th  September

Appointments are available at flexible times during the day and in the evening. If you can’t manage every one of the five days then come on the days that you are available

We are also offering an hour of Quiet and Reflection on the afternoon of Saturday 7th September, 3pm-4pm, as a taster and preparation a little before the Harvest Adventure starts so we might a little time with others who are also journeying over the fortnight. This will be at St John’s Bondgate.

Pray now for follow up as Geoff visits Churches and Schools to speak, take Assemblies, run workshops and encourage Christian groups.

Pray for the training of ‘Faith Guides’ who spend time regularly as individuals with an individual young person, seeking to encourage them in their faith.
