Information Evening – Mental health and trauma-informed pastoral care

Renew Ripon is 2 years old, and we are looking for more people to help with this vital and growing ministry area. Michelle will be holding an information evening on Thursday 11^th April 7-8.30pm in Rooms 1 & 2 for anyone interested in finding out more about Renew Ripon or more generally about how mental health and trauma affect us and how we can best care and support people who are struggling in this way. You don’t need to commit to anything at this stage as this is an opportunity to simply find out more. We will be looking at research and recent findings, best practice pastoral care models, including those we use at Renew Ripon, and the example of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke in caring for people with mental ill health and trauma. There will be an opportunity for refreshments, discussion and questions.

There is no sign-up, but it would help to know numbers for planning so if you are able to please let Michelle Lepine, Julie Bates or the office know. Everyone welcome.

The Digging Deeper Bible Study group will be meeting weekly at 7.30 on Thursday evenings in The Arches from April 18^th , for 5 weeks.    If you want to explore the Bible more deeply  please contact John Rutter: jsrutter49@gmail.com     or just turn up on the 18^th.  We will be looking at Deuteronomy, one of the OT Books  most quoted in the NT.

Tenth Anniversry of the Diocese of Leeds Celebration – 12 May, 3.30 pm

Bishop Anna and Dean John, with the support of the Bishop of Leeds, invite the clergy and congregation to Ripon Cathedral for a celebratory service to mark the Tenth Anniversary of the Diocese of Leeds on  Sunday 12^th May at 3.30pm. Rivers of Life

This service is to celebrate the rural life of the Diocese of Leeds and we are inviting people from all parts of the diocese to share in this celebration of rural communities, parishes, businesses and organisations, not least farming and land management.

1          Pray for the head, teachers, and staff of Al Huda school and the children in their care. 

2.        Pray that in the face of challenges and threats to their Christian presence, the Lord will protect and give the whole school staff courage. 

3.        Pray that the Lord will instil a passion for learning within the hearts of the children supported by Salamati.
