We hope you will join us this Advent and Christmas. We have lots of different activities and services and you will be made very welcome at all of these. This special post will develop over the next few weeks – so keep coming back so you don’t miss a single event.

Advent Film Night 2 December 3.30 pm

This is new for 2023! Come and relax, watch a Family Film and enjoy some festive nibbles. Everyone is welcome to attend and bring your friends. The film is free but Lawrence Fowler and his team are fundraising at this event through donations for refreshments for a World Challenge Expedition to Southern India. So, please bring some small change!

Messy Christmas Saturday 9 December 4 pm

Messy Church will of course have a Christmas theme in December. Come along to take part in the usual crafts, activities and games and then stay for tea – Christmas style!

Decorating the Church for Christmas Monday 11 December 10 am

This is a fun event – open for everyone. Please come and help and then enjoy a mince pie or two as well. If you have any greenery – please bring this along!

Tea and Tots Christmas Party Wednesday 13 December 10 am

Our Tea and Tots Christmas Party is open to all carers and their little ones. Come for Christmas fun and activities.

Winter Wonderland Build a Life Sized Nativity Thursday 14 December 8 am

We have been asked to build a Life Sized Nativity Scene at the Ripon Winter Wonderland in the Spa Gardens. This is a fantastic opportunity to give the true meaning of Christmas in our community.

Christmas Lunch Thursday 14 December 12 noon

Our Thursday lunch team pull out all the stops for Christmas Lunch. This includes a seasonal starter; roast turkey and all the trimmings; Christmas pud and mince pies. Also includes entertainment. All for an inclusive price of £15 per head. Pre-booking is essential for this, which can be done here: Christmas Lunch Booking

Advent Book Club 14 December 7.30 pm

We hope many of you will want to read Stephen Cottrell’s advent book – Stick With Love.

We will meet to discuss this book over a drink and maybe a mince pie or two on the 14 December. The book is available at all good book shops, Amazon and at the Ripon Cathedral Bookshop too.

Carol Singing in the Spa Gardens at the Winter Wonderland Friday 15 December 5 pm

This is a Churches Together event. Please join Christians from across Ripon to sing carols and then explore the amazing Winter Wonderland – entry is free.

Altogether Worship No Rehearse Nativity 17 December 10.30 am

This service will be a more relaxed Christmas Service for the whole family. If you would like to fully take part – please come dressed as a character! Everyone is welcome. We hope you will be able to join us and also bring your friends and family to this more informal Christmas service.

Carol Service with Readings Sunday 17 December 6.30pm

A service of traditional carols and readings telling the true Christmas Story – a bit like 9 Lessons and Carols but not quite as long!

We also serve refreshments after this service such as: mulled wine and mince pies.  

Little Fishes Journey to Bethlehem 18 December 9 am

Our last Little Fishes of December will be Christmas themed. We will have a ‘Journey to Bethlehem’. Bring an nativity outfit for the children and after snack we will act out the Journey to Bethlehem! Please bring friends and family to this too.

We hope you will want to come and enjoy this traditional Carol Service.

Altogether Christmas Songs of Praise 24 December 10.30 am

At our 10.30 service on Sunday 24th December we will be coming together in the main church for a “Christmas Songs of Praise” themed service. We hope you will be able to come along to this celebration of praise and worship.

Christingle Christmas Eve 24 December 4 pm

Everyone is welcome to our Christingle Service on Christmas Eve.

Christingle means ‘Christ’s Light’ and it is a symbol of the Christian faith.  And it is an amazing and meaningful way to start your Christmas celebrations.  Of course children love the Christingle service but it is open to everyone.  We have plenty of oranges on order so please come.  

We look forward to seeing you on Christmas Eve at 4 pm.

First Communion of Christmas 24 December 11.30 pm

We aim to make this a calm and reflective service to think on and of course celebrate the coming of our Lord Jesus. A traditional midnight Holy Communion service

Everyone is welcome.

Christmas Day Morning All Age Holy Communion 25 December 10.30 am

Come and celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. An all-age service to which everyone is invited to join.
