Good afternoon

We hope you are well.  Here are this week’s notices.  You may notice we have brought this forward to Wednesday this week.  If I can be organised, this is the new day for notices!

Recent Happenings

Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving was really well received – thank you for your kind comments on Facebook and elsewhere.

Men’s Breakfast last Saturday was really well attended the next one is on Saturday March 19th.

Help Needed

Little Fishes is becoming a great way of connecting with new families (to Trinity) but to do this successfully help is needed.  If you are free on some Monday mornings (you don’t need to commit to every week) please speak to Sandra.

Shrove Tuesday  The Outreach Group have started planning a full day of events on 1 March.  There will be a number of activities you might like to attend and or help at.  Full details will be circulated soon – but please keep this day free in your diary.

Worship and Prayer

This coming Sunday  At our 9 am Holy Communion and 10.30 am  services,  the theme is: “Letting in the Light”  Becoming: Who must I be? The readings are: Psalm 1 and Luke 8:4-15  Kids church happens also at 10:30 am in The Arches.  In the evening we have our Youth Service starting at 6:50 pm in The Arches.

Morning Prayer  We meet for Morning Prayer at 8:30 am Monday to Thursday – all welcome.

Tuesday Prayer Group We meet, first in the Coffee area at 11 am and then go into Room 3 every Tuesday.

Thursday Holy Communion at 11.30 and now back in room 3 in The Arches! Every Thursday.

Prayer Focus  We are re-introducing our Prayer Focus slot which will change every 3 weeks or so for you to think and pray for our Mission Partners.  This week we start with The Walsh Family  Please pray for:

  • a safe journey to Florianopolis in Brazil
  • comfortable and secure accommodation
  • maintenance of good links with supporters
  • building a good working relationship with their partners in Vineyard church
  • God’s protection, guidance and inspiration in their work

Other Prayers Please  The Fabric Committee meets on Thursday please pray for this and also the upcoming Alpha Course starts on 26 January.

Funerals  We have a number of Funeral Services happening in the near future.

Courses

Alpha starts very soon on Wednesday 26 January at 7:30 pm over Zoom.  Anyone is welcome to join, whether you have done Alpha before or not.  Please invite your friends and family to join too.  At this time of year when it is dark and often cold and wet this is a great way to meet and make new friendships and grow old ones. Details Here 

Lent Course Lent starts on 2 March 2022.  Holy Trinity will be producing some material for Lenten study.  Details of this will be available shortly.

Saving Creation, Six Steps to Carbon Net Zero  A webinar for anyone interested in this subject.  Details here:  Saving Creation I’m hoping to attend, so alternatively if you want, please get in contact with me at the office.  

Spring Harvest  Is focussed on renewing and rebuilding our churches, our communities and our lives; drawing from the life of Nehemiah.  It happens between April 9 and 13 at Harrogate Convention Centre.  Details Here.

Activities and Groups

Many of our activities and Groups have re-started and we have some new ones too.

Craft Club  
A new activity happening every Tuesday at 9:15 am.  The time is designed to enable parents who drop children at school to come and meet, chat and craft; but of course is open to all age groups.  Details are available here:  Craft Club 

Little Fishes  Our popular parent and toddler group meets every Monday at 9 am.  Sign-up and details about this available here:  Little Fishes

Thursday Lunch A wonderful opportunity to have a 2 or 3 course lunch, meet people and chat and a great way of bringing someone new to Holy Trinity Church  Details Here

Friday Stitchers
 Another new group!  Friday Stitchers meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month.  The next meeting will be on Friday 28th January at 7 pm in The Arches – usually. However the meeting on the 28th will be in the Tower Room as we have a prior booking on this day.  Details here

FUSE  
Our Youth Group that traditionally met on a Thursday evening is re-starting in January too.  Initially this will be for the younger teens.  Matt can give you further details.
