Last Sunday
Lots of folk from Holy Trinity and other Christians from around Ripon met on the Market Square as an Act of Witness for Palm Sunday – here are some pictures from the day
Holy Week and Easter
There are lots of activities and services happening in Ripon this week.
Holy Trinity Services:
Maundy Thursday at 7.30 pm. A service of Holy Communion in the round. A very moving and thought provoking service of course thinking on and commemorating the Last Supper.
Good Friday at 10:30 am. An All Age service that will again be reflective and participatory. If you plan to come to this service bring the cross that was made on the First Sunday of Lent. Don’t worry if you haven’t got this still – there will be materials to create a new one. We plan to make a meaningful display outside at the end of the service. After this we plan to wander up to the Market Square for a short Act of Witness with other Christians from Ripon. The Act of Witness starts at 12 noon.
Easter Day at 9 am and 10.30 am Easter Day Holy Communion. The 9 am service tends to be quieter the 10:30 am Easter Day Service is the main Act of Worship on Sunday and suitable for everyone. Come and celebrate our Risen King.
Easter Rocks
When out and about in Ripon keep a look out for the Easter Rocks. There is a chance to win a massive 5 kg chocolate egg!!
Easter Activities
At the Cathedral there are chiuldren’s activities on Thursday from 10 am.
Hope Explored is a very short course of just 3 weeks. We are offering this course starting the Sunday after Easter Day (24 April). This will happen at 10:30 – i.e. when the other services are happening and is intended for you to bring friends and relatives who don’t usually come to church. We hope that any visitors who come to Holy Trinity on Easter Day might also be interested in coming to this. There will be fliers available on Sunday – please encourage people to come to this if you get the chance to have any conversations.
Other Things Happening
Renew Ripon
Renew Ripon will happen next week, but not on Monday as this is a Bank Holiday, but the Tuesday session will happen as usual at 6:30 pm. Please come along or remember that this amazing resource is available for you and anyone you know – whether they are a Christian or not.

Everyone will be welcome to this event (it is a Bank Holiday). Please book in and bring your friends and family. Platinum Jubilee Celebration
Holy Trinity APCM
The APCM happens on 25 April at 7.30 pm. Exciting news about what is planned following the Mission Action Plan developments and lots more. Please keep this date free to come along.
Mission Partner Prayer Focus
We have a new Prayer Focus this week.
Please pray for Salamati in Pakistan.
Please pray for the head teacher at Al Huda Pre-cadet school, and the teachers at this school too as they stand firm and provide Christian education in a majority Muslim area.
Pray for the children currently being sponsored.
Pray for the Rev. Mushtaq Raza Vicar of St. Peter’s church Waseem Park Lahore – the contact person for Al Huda Pre-cadet school, and the Rev. Akram Gill Vicar of St Oswald’s church Mughalpura Lahore, under whose supervision the food program is run.
Also pray for the families we are currently supporting with food etc.
Also, pray that the donated items of clothing etc that are to be sent to Pakistan this summer will be delivered safely and distributed wisely to those in need.
Thank God for the generosity of those people who have supported us financially and with donations, that God will continue to bless them.
Pray for our next project, a free clinic at Kot Radha Kishan. We will face opposition from the influential Muslims families, as they would not want to see help being provided for these poor families. Please pray that there will be softening of hearts.
