CHILDREN’S GROUPS ON SUNDAY MORNINGS

Matt is exploring the possibility of launching children’s groups during our Sunday morning services and is keen to get these started in the near future. He believes these groups would be a real blessing to our church family by: Providing age-appropriate teaching and discipleship for our children. Helping children build friendships and grow together in faith. Supporting families and enabling everyone to engage more fully in Sunday worship. His hope is to develop groups that broadly follow the Key Stages used in schools, initially focusing on: Preschool (ages 2-4) Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2, ages 5-7) Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6, ages 7-11) Each session would include a mixture of: Play and fun activities Worship Bible teaching Prayer

NEW SUNDAY 10.30 PATTERN

Please see below for a summary of our new Sunday 10.30 pattern of services.

As we begin this new pattern, we’ll be reviewing things as we go and making adjustments where needed. Please bear with us as we work out what works well and what may need to change.

Above all, please pray that as we gather each Sunday, God will meet with us, draw us closer to him, and lead us as a church family.

Week 1 – Altogether Sunday Gathering together for worship, prayer and teaching as one intergenerational church family.
Week 2 – Options Sunday Beginning together in sung worship, followed by a choice of ways to engage: ·       Sermon (remain in main worship space) ·       Creative activity (in the Arches Rooms 1 & 2) ·       Bible study/discussion (in the Arches Room 5)
Week 3 – Altogether Communion Gathering together for intergenerational Holy Communion.
Week 4 – Sermon+ Sunday
Beginning together, with the option to: ·       Stay upstairs for an all-age talk ·       Move downstairs for a longer-form sermon
(Week 5 – Altogether)
In months with a fifth Sunday, we may offer additional options and explore age-specific provision.

  • Praise God for the donation to build a proper, brick kitchen, instead of the current poor shelter
  • Pray for more students to register for courses, and for sponsors to donate fees
  • Praise for the forthcoming Graduation in October, and pray for funds for the celebration.

Please have a look on the Mission Partners Board downstairs for further information.

CONNAUGHT BRASS – FRENCH AND AMERICAN MUSIC, A BRASS EXPLORATION

The Mayor’s Local Transport Plan will help shape future transport investment and priorities across York and North Yorkshire. As part of the consultation, we’re holding a series of public drop-in events where residents can meet the team, find out more about the plan, ask questions and share their views in person.

The event will take place on:

  • Thursday 15th October, 9am to 3pm, Ripon Market

We would also be very grateful if you could share details of the event through your communications channels, such as newsletters, websites, social media to help encourage local residents to attend. I have attached some messages you could share and a social media graphic.

Further information about the Mayor’s Local Transport Plan as well as details of other events can be found on our webpage.

Several folk have commented on the music that accompanied the video of Cathie’s St Cuthbert’s Way Pilgrimage.  The Christian folk musician who wrote it, Gareth Davies-Jones, is playing at Pateley Bridge Methodist on October 16th at 7pm. Tickets from 01423652218. or at the door.
