There is a small but growing Christian festival fairly local to Ripon in July called Cedarwood Festival
But before this you can experience what the worship will be like by attending a worship evening run by Cedarwood Festival at Ripon Cathedral on 28th April at 7pm. Details here: Cedarwood Tour
Coronation Celebratory Thursday Lunch
To mark the coronation of King Charles III there will be a special Thursday Lunch on 11 May at the usual time of 12 noon. Tickets are limited for this and pre-booking is essential. Tickets can be purchased directly from Gloria, at Thursday Lunch or shortly on line here: Coronation Lunch. Because this will be a longer lunch than usual, please bring a cushion if you find sitting for a long period uncomfortable!
Walk and Talk and Other Stuff
Matt and his team of brilliant volunteers re-started the walk and talk gatherings last Sunday. This was so successful Matt is running an extra Walk and Talk this Sunday too. Parents and carers please sign-up here: Walk and Talk. Other things:
We have a New Life Group starting for Year Groups 7 to 9. Parents need to sign theior children up for this: Life Group Y 7 to 9
Messy Church is happening soon on May 13 at 4 pm. Put it in your calendar now!
Remember Family Church now happens every Sunday at 10.30 am except the first Sunday in the month. Everyone is welcome to come to this.
And finally, the numbers of young people coming to Hang Out on a Thursday evening is starting to grow. This is great news. If you would like to help at this please get in touch with Matt.
Life Groups
Matt and his team are putting in place plans for Life Groups. Thank you for everyone who has added there responses to the questionnaire about life groups. Matt will be in touch if you have shown interest in helping or would like your child(ren) to join these groups.
Mission Partners
Our prayer focus continues this week for Salamati.
Prayer Points for Salamati
Please pray for the head teacher at Al Huda Pre-cadet school and the teachers at this school as they stand firm and provide Christian education in a majority Muslim area.
Pray for the following children: Arman, Muqadus, Angel, Rimon, Anzi, Sameer, Emmanuel, Yashuwa, Arvin, and Naeem Also rray for the Rev. Mushtaq Raza Vicar of St. Peter’s church Waseem Park Lahore, and the Rev. Akram Gill Vicar of St Oswald’s church Mughalpura Lahore, who help.
Pray for the families we are currently supporting with food.
Pray that the donated items of clothing etc that are to be sent to Pakistan this summer will be delivered safely and distributed wisely to those in need.
Thank God for the generosity of those people who have supported us financially and with donations, that God will continue to bless them.
Pray for our next project, a free clinic at Kot Radha Kishan. We will face opposition from the influential Muslims families, as they would not want to see help being provided for these poor families. Please pray that there will be softening of hearts.
