Growing in Your Faith
Paul rejoiced that the Christians in Thessalonica were growing in faith: “We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing” 2 Thessalonians 1: 3
To help you grow we have two main activities at Holy Trinity. We run a variety of courses, which are open to anyone to join; and we have a number of House Groups that allow members to grow in their faith and develop a closer fellowship with a smaller number of Christians than just meeting the whole congregation on a Sunday.
Study Courses
At Holy Trinity we want you to have opportunities to grow. We regularly run a variety of well known courses, including:
Hope Explored looks at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, this three-session series shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present.
Christianity Explored is a relaxed and informal way of finding time to think about the big questions of life.
Over seven sessions in Mark’s Gospel, guests find out more about the life of the person at the heart of the Christian faith – Jesus Christ.
The structure of each session is simple: a short Bible study, a talk and a discussion based on the talk.
Discipleship Explored is an eight-session journey through Paul’s letter to the Philippians and is ideal for believers at any stage of the Christian life. It features documentary-style films and inspiring real-life stories from around the world, Bible studies and weekly reading plans.
Alpha is another course we often run that allows guests to ask the big questions about God, Faith and the Bible.
The format comprises of meeting over light refreshments, a discussion followed by a video and a follow up discussion.
Alpha Course Trailer
Freedom in Christ is a series of studies for Christians to deepen their faith. Many see this as a great follow up course for those who have been on an Alpha or Christianity Explored course and want to deepen their commitment to Jesus.

House Groups
We have a number of House or Study Groups that meet on a regular basis. Some meet at peoples houses in and around Ripon; some meet at church; and some do meet on line over zoom on occasions.
Home Groups; Cell Groups; Small Groups; Connect Groups; Life Groups; House Groups – all names that you may have heard before and which you can use fairly interchangeably. But, whatever you call it, these groups are united by a common idea: A smaller setting providing a space for deep community to form and for exploration of teaching in a way that is not possible in a Sunday service. A house group, then, is a group choosing to push into this idea, intentionally pushing deep into community and teaching together.
The following provide details of the groups that are open to new members, just click on the image to find out more:
