21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND REFLECTION FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION

The coming General Election is critical for our nation. It raises big questions and is a time for us to play our part in shaping our future and building the kind of country we would like to have. As well as playing our part, we can pray our part. As Christians, our calling is to turn first to God in prayer.

The Church of England has produced some prayer resources to help us to do this for the 21 days leading up to the General Election, beginning on the 14th June. We have limited supplies of booklets entitled ‘Pray Your Part’ which you are free to take from the narthex table. Alternatively, resources can be found at www.cofe.io/PrayYourPart

Please also use the suggested prayer activities on the prayer station within the main worship are at church.

Also, we will be hosting a hustings on 26 June at 6.00 pm which will be run by the ‘Stray Ferret’.

PLEASE SUPPORT HOLY TRINITY AND RIPON THEATRE FESTIVAL

Holy Trinity is supporting The Ripon Theatre Festival in two main ways. Firstly, we are getting involved through Open the Book’s performance of The Story of Daniel in Spa Gardens on Sunday 7 July at 1 pm (straight after church)! This is free and we hope lots will come and enjoy this and all the other free entertainment happening on the day. Bring a picnic and have some great fun.

Secondly, we are hosting A Spoonful of Julie on Wednesday 3 July at 1 pm, details and how to get tickets are here: Julie We hope this will be a great success and encourage the Festival to use Holy Trinity in future years. This is a great way to encourage people to come back to other things we do at Trinity. We will also be serving Scones and Jam after this performance – so another reason to sign up and get a ticket!

WHAT DO BOOTHS, BOOKS AND BREAKFAST CLUB HAVE IN COMMON?

Of course, they all start with the letter B. But there is something else. Booths are installing a bookshelf in store for people to take their unwanted books to. Here you will also be able to purchase any book on display for 50p each. And, all the money raised will be going to Breakfast Club funds! A big thank you to Booths and to Gloria and her daughter who have been instrumental in setting this up!

RENEW RIPON IS GOING OUTSIDE!

RenewRipon is hosting wellness walks on a Wednesday evening, in addition to its usual opening times on a Monday and Tuesday. These short walks will start/finish at the Claro lounge from 6 – 7.30 pm on the first and third Wednesday of each month. All will be welcome (including assistance dogs)!

The Renew Ripon hosts need your help! Do you think you could help lead a walk on a Wednesday? Each walk requires two leaders to keep the group safe.

And do you have a favourite walking route around Ripon that you would be willing to share? The route should be no longer than 1.5/2 miles, and of a terrain that is easily accessible to all. I’ve got several routes already, but it would be nice not to repeat them too often!

If you think you can help, please let Jed know, either by email (see church directory), popping down to the Arches on a Tuesday evening from 6.30 – 8.30pm or coming to the Claro lounge on the first and third Wednesday @ 6pm.
