The Environment

We hope you’ve been enjoying the glorious sunshine lately. It’s a wonderful time of year to make the most of nature and the outdoors. It’s also a time to reflect on the changing climate and the role we play as Christians in caring for God’s creation. The Church has a missional responsibility to care for the earth’s resources and all God’s people, and at Holy Trinity Church we are working towards achieving an ARocha Bronze Eco Award which means we do just that. This means committing to different actions which put climate care at the heart of our worship life and community. There is a small team – Environment Focus Group – who are drawing up a list of actions and events to inform and develop how we might live and work more sustainably as a Body of Christ and as individuals, including partnering with other groups and people within the wider community. There are some exciting plans in progress. Watch this space…..

In the meantime, we are looking for a Parish Environment Officer (PEO) to work with the Environment Focus Team and eventually oversee our eco-mission at Holy Trinity. Could this be you? Do you have a heart for caring for the environment? If you are interested or would like to know more about the role, please get in touch with Michelle on [email protected]

Digging Deeper

Digging Deeper is a six week bible study course being led by John Rutter in Arches Room 5 on a Thursday evening.

If you would like to register your interest please let John know by adding your details in the sign-up. Digging Deeper It all starts on Thursday 22 June

Eating Together

We had our Welcome Lunch recently so another big “Thank You” to all who volunteered at this. And of course we have had Meet and Eat events in the recent past. Folk have indicated that to eat together after the Sunday Morning Services is something they would like to do. So, this is just an advanced warning to say we agree and we are looking to plan some days when this could occur – please look out for the dates and keep those picnic things ready as we will possibly be trying to enjoy some of this wonderful weather!

You may also notice over the coming weeks other social gatherings being planned. We are putting together a group of folk who would like to get involved in these activities. Again, think about this now and be ready to get back to us when we have details.

Holy Trinity Schools Fayre

This is another advance notice. Holy Trinity Schools are planning a School Fayre on Saturday 1 July (we will give the exact times when we get the details). Holy Trinity Church have been invited to have a stall at the Fayre and plans are in hand (pun intended) for a hand massage and nail painting stall. We hope folk from church will want to contribute in a number of ways – but please keep the date free if you can.

Last Night of the Proms

Tickets are now on sale for this which happens at Trinity on 30 June. Rotary Club of Ripon who are arranging this expect it to be very popular so get your tickets whilst they are available. Click here for details: Proms

Men of the Dales – Cycle Social

This event happens at Reeth, Dales Bike Centre. 22 July 12.30 through to 5 pm. Bring your own bike or hire from the centre.
