Notices of Week of 12 December 2022

This Sunday

The crib is empty. We need you all to come to see it, and the stable, filled this Sunday at the 10.30 am service. We also need as many of you as possible to come dressed in character to join in with our “No Rehearse” Nativity. It will be fun, faithful, and just fantastic so bring your friends, neighbours and family.

(Don’t forget, we stream this service so if you don’t want to appear on YouTube remember to stay in your seats on Sunday!)

Carol Singers Required

Can you sing carols? We need you to come and bless the community of Ripon. And there are at least two opportunities to do this:

  • Saturday 17 Dec at Spa Gardens to sing Carols with Christians from all over Ripon. Just come and enjoy the Winter Wonderland and then sing!
  • Thursday 22 December meeting at Holy Trinity Church at 2.45pm to get to Sunnyfield Lodge for 3 pm and then on a tour back to church for hearty soup and may be a mince pie or two. Please sign-up for this one if you can as it helps with refreshments. Sign-up Here

Decorators Required

We are decorating this week too. All on Thursday 15 December. You can come at any time but here is what is happening at various stages of the day:

  • 8 am come to help us build a life sized nativity at the Spa Gardens. (If you have one, bring a hammer!)
  • From 10 am we will be decorating the church.
  • Later in the morning a large Christmas Tree from the Walled Garden will be delivered which also needs decorating!
  • But it’s not all work – Michelle has promised to bring mince pies and for the ladies at 12 noon there will be a free nail bar! So come and decorate and then get your nails done!!

And Finally, on Sunday 18 December too

If all the excitement and rush and frantic preparations is getting too much come to our Carols and Readings service at 6.30 pm on Sunday 18 December. A chance to really reflect on the amazing gift of Jesus we celebrate each Christmas.

Ripon City of Sanctuary School Uniform Campaign We’ve been asked by NYCC to help collect school uniforms for asylum-seeker children in the county. They can’t go to school unless they have school uniform! Unfortunately, most schools have run out of their usual second-hand stocks because of the cost of living crisis.

There are two ways people can help:

  • Donate quality second-hand uniforms – all the info on our webpage
  • Donate money towards new school shoes – via our JustGiving page.
