Notices of Week of 9 September 2022

The death of Her Majesty The Queen

Of course we will all find different ways of responding to this sad news. As the days progress of course new opportunities will arise but you may find the following useful:

The Church of England web site has different ways of adding your condolence and other prayer resources you might like to use: Church of England

At Holy Trinity Church the following has been arranged:

The “Jubilee” Queen cut out in the church yard has been adapted so that people can add their memories of the Queen to this again, and if people do want to lay any floral tributes this location would be a good place to do this.

We have decided to cancel Messy Church on Saturday as this was planned to be a BBQ which was not felt to be an appropriate activity at this time.  Matt and a few of the team will be at Church on Saturday afternoon in case this message doesn’t get through and the church will be open at this time if people want to take a quiet moment in church.

A “Book of Condolence” will be opened by Sunday.  This will be located in Narthex (entrance area) of the church.

On Monday and Tuesday of next week (and possibly later into the week) Holy Trinity Church will be open for quiet reflection after the end of school.  The church will also be open between 9 and 3 pm as usual.

All services will remain as published but of course will reflect this sad time.

Gracious God, we give thanks

for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,

for her faith and her dedication to duty.

Bless our nation as we mourn her death

and may her example continue to inspire us;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
