Notices of Week of 7 July 2022
Many of you know that we have a vibrant Open the Book team working with folk from The Cathedral and the Methodist Church in Ripon. We went into Holy Trinity Infants today (Thursday) to tell the story of Adam and Eve and the Apple (The Sad Day). We wish you could have been there: when Eve reached out to pick the apple you could have heard a pin drop! This is a great Ministry we have the privilege to be part of.
Summer Series – What is…..?
We are really excited about our Summer Worship series. Between Sunday July 24 and Sunday September 4 we are combining our 10:30 am Morning Worship and our Family Worship services.
The church layout will change and we will have a Cafe’ style church for this period similar to the layout those who worship at Family Church would recognise. This means chairs around tables and refreshments and other things on the tables.
This is an exciting moment where we bring two large groups together to make a super congregation – it will be busy!
The theme is “What is……..?” looking at things like Church, Worship, Communion and Discipleship so the teaching will be great too.
We hope the existing congregation of both our services will find this series uplifting, inspiring and exciting but also that visitors will feel welcomed to this too. Please bring your friends and families if they are visiting you over the summer.
This Saturday
Oasis
We have sent out a separate invitation but just to remind you that Oasis meets this Saturday at 9 am. Details here too: Oasis
Messy Church
Another really vibrant ministry is Messy Church. We have our last Messy Church before the summer break this Saturday 9 July at 4 pm. Everyone welcome. If you haven’t been before and would like to see what happens please come along we are always looking for new people to help. See Matt about helping if you want to know more. Messy Church
24 Hour Worshipathon
This is a sponsored event to raise money for one of our young people to attend an Explorer Scout trip to South Korea in 2023 and so much more! But of course, it is an opportunity to come and Praise God at an awesome event too. Starts Saturday 9 July at 11.30 am for 24 hours!
Access to the event which is on the Balcony (in the main) will be open during the day. However after 10 pm on the Saturday evening through to 8 am on the Sunday morning you will need to ring in advance to gain access. The telephone number to do this is: 07377 188 009
During this event, Izzy is raising funds for an Explorer Scout trip to South Korea in 2023! She has been selected as one of 4000 UK scouts to attend the World Jamboree next year. After 2 very challenging years, this is very motivating for Iz. She is working every week to earn lots of this money (£3,700) and will also be running numerous fundraising events over the year.
